A fair question

“The furniture store will design it for nothing. Why would I pay?”

It is the right question and it deserves a straight answer rather than a defensive one.

01What free design is for

It is paid for by the furniture.

A design service inside a furniture retailer exists to sell that retailer’s furniture. It is good at that, and for a room that only needs furniture it can be the right answer.

But it has one catalogue behind it. It cannot specify the tile, the stone, the plumbing, the lighting or the millwork, because the store does not sell them — and in a kitchen or a bathroom those are most of the decisions and most of the money.

02What a drawing is

A furniture plan is not a construction document.

Nobody builds a bathroom from a room render. What a trade needs is an elevation with the coursing dimensioned, plumbing locations set against the plan, and a schedule that names the exact product. That is a different deliverable, and it takes the time it takes.

We can build it.

This is the part the free version cannot follow through on. We do not hand you a drawing and a delivery date — the same studio carries it into construction, within an hour’s drive.

04What paying buys

Independence.

Because we are paid for the design, the design does not have to recommend anything in particular.

A free plan has to sell you something. Ours does not.
