Limited Workmanship Warranty
What we stand behind after a room is finished, and how to reach us if something is not right. Last updated October 9, 2026.
1. What this warranty covers
Construction. The workmanship of construction delivered for a studio project under a written construction agreement: that the work was done in a good and workmanlike manner, to generally accepted standards of the trade, within the scope of that agreement. The agreement names the licensed party responsible for the work. Where the agreement and this page differ, the agreement governs.
Design. If a drawing we deliver contains an error of ours — a dimension that does not match the measurements we took or the ones you gave us — we correct the drawing at no cost.
This warranty covers labor and workmanship. It is issued by Javana Solutions LLC, doing business as A Couple & A Dream, to the client named in the agreement.
2. How long it lasts
The warranty period is written into each construction agreement. Where the agreement does not state one, the period is:
- Projects up to $5,000: thirty days.
- Projects from $5,000 to $15,000: ninety days.
- Projects over $15,000: six months.
The period starts on the date of substantial completion and takes effect once the project is paid in full.
3. Materials, fixtures and appliances
Products carry their manufacturers' warranties, not this one. We pass those warranties on to you with your project documents and help you make a claim with the manufacturer if one is needed. For materials you supply yourself, we stand behind our installation, but not the material: if it fails, replacing it is new work.
4. What it does not cover
- Normal wear and tear, and the natural behavior of materials: hairline cracks, settling, shrinkage, and the movement of wood, stone and plaster with humidity and temperature.
- Damage from water, weather, storms, flooding, corrosion or structural movement of the house.
- Misuse, accidents, or care and cleaning that differ from the care guide we give you.
- Work, repairs or changes made by anyone other than the team that delivered the project.
- Conditions that existed before the work, or that were concealed and not reasonably discoverable, including structural, code or substrate conditions.
- Electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems and appliances outside the scope of the agreement.
- Matters of taste in selections and finishes you approved. We care how the room looks; this warranty is about how it was built.
5. Your part
Look after the room as the care guide describes, give us reasonable access to inspect and correct the work, and let us make the correction ourselves. A repair or change made by someone else to the same work ends the warranty for that part of the work.
6. How to make a claim
Write to hello@acouplenadream.com as soon as you notice the problem, and no later than thirty days after you notice it and within the warranty period. Include photographs and a short description. We arrange a visit, determine the cause and, if it is covered, correct it.
7. What we do
We repair or replace the defective work, at our choice, and leave the area clean. That repair or replacement is the remedy under this warranty; it is not paid out in cash or credit. A correction does not restart the warranty period.
8. Limits
To the fullest extent the law allows, this warranty replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, loss of use or loss of income. Our total responsibility under this warranty is limited to the value of the work that gave rise to the claim. Some rights under Florida law cannot be limited, and nothing here limits them.
9. Transfer
This warranty belongs to the client named in the agreement and is not transferred with the property.
10. Florida law
This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Florida law sets out a notice and repair process for construction-defect claims, and that process applies to claims under this warranty.
