What a bathroom remodel costs in Pinellas County
A full bathroom remodel in Pinellas County runs between $18,000 and $50,000 for most houses, or roughly $250 to $550 per square foot of bathroom. A primary bath with a curbless shower, relocated plumbing and a glass enclosure sits in the upper half of that band. A guest bath that keeps its layout sits in the lower half.
The five decisions that move the number
Whether the plumbing moves. Keeping the drain and supply where they are is the least expensive decision available to you. Moving them means opening the floor — and in a slab-on-grade house, which is most of Pinellas, that means cutting concrete.
Whether the shower is curbless. This is a floor structure decision, not a finish upgrade. The slope has to come from somewhere: either a recessed pan or a raised floor across the room.
Tile format and layout. Large-format porcelain with continuous veining costs more to buy and considerably more to set — the flatness tolerances are tighter and the cuts are unforgiving. A 12×24 in a running bond is a different job from a book-matched 24×48.
The glass. Framed, semi-frameless and frameless are three different prices, and a frameless panel over a curbless entry has to be measured after the tile is set.
What is behind the wall. In a house built before 1985, expect to find something — cast iron drain at the end of its life, galvanized supply, missing blocking, a vent that was never right. It belongs in the budget as a range, not as a surprise.

Where the money goes
Demolition and protection, plumbing and electrical rough-in, waterproofing, tile and setting, fixtures and vanity, glass, lighting, paint and punch. The two people underprice most are waterproofing — invisible when it is done right — and site protection, which is what keeps the rest of the house liveable while the work happens.

What does a bathroom remodel cost in Pinellas County?
Between $18,000 and $50,000 for most houses, or roughly $250 to $550 per square foot of bathroom. A primary bath with a curbless shower, relocated plumbing and a glass enclosure sits in the upper half; a guest bath that keeps its layout sits in the lower half.
What makes a bathroom expensive?
Five decisions, in order: whether the plumbing moves, whether the shower is curbless, the tile format and layout, the glass, and what is found behind the wall.
Why does a curbless shower cost more?
Because it is a floor structure decision, not a finish upgrade. The slope has to come from somewhere — either a recessed pan or a raised floor across the whole room — and in a slab house that means cutting concrete.
What do people underestimate most?
Waterproofing and site protection. The first is invisible when it is done right, and the second is what keeps the rest of the house liveable while the work happens.
